Filipina food content creator Abi Marquez was nominated once again for the 2025 Webby Awards.
Whereas she won the 2024 Webby People’s Voice Award, she is now nominated under the Creators – Food and Drink category for this year.
Here’s what you need to know about her nomination, the award-giving body, and how to vote in the upcoming 2025 Webby Awards.
What are the Webbys?
The Webby Awards were established in 1996 to celebrate and honor the best the internet has to offer, with the awards being seen as the “Oscars of the Internet.”
The awards are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), which is a judging body with over 3,000 members made up of Executive Members, who are leading internet experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities, and Associate Members, which include former Webby winners, nominees, and other internet professionals.
Facing stiff competition
Abi Marquez faces stiff competition this year, as her culinary prowess and online content-creator savviness will go up against a number of notable food creators.
The other nominees in her category are the following:
- Joshua Weissman, who makes viral cooking videos as well
- Andrew Rea, the creator of the Binging with Babish meal-making series
- Olivia Tiedemann of Liv for Pasta
- Jeremy Scheck of Scheck Eats
Can you vote for her?
Two major awards can be potentially won.
While the Creators – Food and Drink category is meant for members of the awarding committee to vote on, users can still vote for the People’s Voice Award, thus recommending her again for a place in that particular category.
To vote, users would need to go to the Webby Awards website and look for the option to “Go Vote.”
From the voting menu, choose the Creators Category, then choose the Food and Drink subcategory, and place your vote. Visitors can vote once per category, with voting set to end on April 17 at 11:59 pm PST.
